Leger Grindon, also known as Arthur St. Leger Grindon III. Born May 19, 1927 in St. Louis Missouri, died March 22, 2012 in Placentia, California. Served in the United States Navy, graduated from Washington University School of Law, and had a lengthy career in insurance claims. Fathered and raised four children during his 62-year marriage to Claire Elmore Grindon.
Passionate world traveler, duplicate bridge player, gardener, stamp collector, and Roman Catholic. Former Cub Scout pack leader and prize-winning Toastmaster. Chairman and active member of Our World Travelogues at the Fullerton Senior Center for many years. Survived by children Angela Grindon and Jim Morton, Leger and Sharon Grindon, Michael Grindon and Chantal Prunier, and Julia and Ron Samuelson, by grandchildren Nina Morton, Alexandra Grindon, Blake Grindon, Matthew Morton, Casey Grindon, Christopher Samuelson, Phillip Samuelson, Mia Grindon, and Aaron Samuelson, and by siblings Al and Joan Grindon and Carolyn and Harry Gaffney.
Leger’s friends are invited to join the family at a viewing on Sunday, March 25, from 6:00 to 8:00pm at McAulay and Wallace Mortuary, 902 N. Harbor Blvd, Fullerton, and at a funeral Mass 10:30am on Monday, March 26 at St Joseph’s Church, 717 N. Bradford Ave., Placentia
