Thomas Lee Allison, 78, passed peacefully on May 17, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Marian; two sons, Russ and Jeff; and two grandsons, Shane and Thomas. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Tom grew up and spent 70 years of his life in Fullerton. As a youth he spent many hours at Amerige Park and working downtown at Wilkinson’s Drug Store. He graduated from Fullerton HS, joined the Army and proudly served in Germany. Upon return, he met and married Marian. They purchased a home in a wonderful Fullerton neighborhood in 1969. Tom worked for Bergen Brunswig Wholesalers, beginning in the warehouse in 1958 and retiring as a Vice-President in 1994. He was an honest and kind man, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. Tom thoroughly enjoyed traveling, gardening and cherished time with family & friends. Upon retirement he volunteered his time for several causes. He was frequently seen in his Ford pick-up helping others with projects, headed to the hardware store or going to Angel Stadium. The morning started with a cup of coffee over the newspaper, then he headed outside to embrace the day. Tom always had a kind word, a helpful hand and a smile. Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 21st at First Presbyterian Church in Fullerton at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association Orange County Chapter. The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of Richman Gardens for their caring support during Tom’s final months.
